After this past Sunday’s Top 9 vocal war, Nospiho is voted off the show. While the likes of Tshidi, Khaya, Shekhinah and Simphiwe still reign supreme in the voting polls and social media, it’s a little sad that a diva of a kind, Nosipho who belonged up there with the fore-mentioned gets booted out so soon in the competition. Was it a case of a bad song choice or that her performance just couldn’t generate enough votes for her?
The bottom 3 were Chloe, Nosipho and Dominic, whom I thought was hanging on by his fingertips. He gave a below-lukewarm performance of Tiao Cruz’s
‘Dynamite’ and not only did Gareth find it horrible but a lot did, including me. Am I fair to say that as far as talent is concerned Dominic was supposed to be voted off? I guess it all boils down to the number of votes.
Chloe literally threw herself into that bottom 3. Whoever motivated her to take that all-over-the-place rock song should be banned from breathing and I hope she has learned her lesson.
Monde is doing a great job playing far from the bottom 3, for some reason I always expect him in the bottom, and he just never is. I’m slowly growing into his voice.
Melissa redeemed her hopelessly sinking boat with Joe Goddard’s popular house jam
‘Gabriel’. I hope she maintains the pace, this competition can only get tougher and more unpredictable.
Did you vote?

The Top 8 takes on the songs from the year they were born in this Sunday’s episode of Idols on Msanzi Magic, M-Net and M-Net HD.
