Idols Top 9: Nosipho gets the Bye

After this past Sunday’s Top 9 vocal war, Nospiho is voted off the show. While the likes of Tshidi, Khaya, Shekhinah and Simphiwe still reign supreme in the voting polls and social media, it’s a little sad that a diva of a kind, Nosipho who belonged up there with the fore-mentioned gets booted out so soon in the competition. Was it a case of a bad song choice or that her performance just couldn’t generate enough votes for her?

The bottom 3 were Chloe, Nosipho and Dominic, whom I thought was hanging on by his fingertips. He gave a below-lukewarm performance of Tiao Cruz’s ‘Dynamite’ and not only did Gareth find it horrible but a lot did, including me. Am I fair to say that as far as talent is concerned Dominic was supposed to be voted off? I guess it all boils down to the number of votes.

Chloe literally threw herself into that bottom 3. Whoever motivated her to take that all-over-the-place rock song should be banned from breathing and I hope she has learned her lesson.

Monde is doing a great job playing far from the bottom 3, for some reason I always expect him in the bottom, and he just never is. I’m slowly growing into his voice.

Melissa redeemed her hopelessly sinking boat with Joe Goddard’s popular house jam ‘Gabriel’. I hope she maintains the pace, this competition can only get tougher and more unpredictable.

Did you vote?
Was your favourite voted out or saved?

The Top 8 takes on the songs from the year they were born in this Sunday’s episode of Idols on Msanzi Magic, M-Net and M-Net HD.

I did not watch Idols on Sunday, but if yesterday's perfomance is anything to go by or similar to her sunday delivery then she deserved to go... Her voice was just bad yesterday, it sounded like she was nervous....and was screaming nje..maybe she should have stuck to your Jennifer Hudson kinda songs....

Nosipho deserved to go this week and Melissa was definitely the best (despite being awful last week). Tshidi is still the most consistently good. Was surprised to see Chloe in the bottom three.

Nosipho had a bad performance on sunday, she went off tune and it was sad coz she is a great performer. the bottom 3 all deserved to be there. Chloe needs to go next, i dont know how she stayed this long!

every week i will mention a contestant that i think will win and the one that should have been sent home on tuesday...

there i go:
tshedi is a bomb

bottom three: chloe, nosipho, dominic
dominic should have gone home... actually he should have gone before obakeng. i am still angry that obakeng is not there. he was better than dominic, melissa, and nosipho

can we have this thread every sunday like we had with BBA?

Since I have a clean record of picking the runner-ups as favorites, I so want to hate my favorite to give her a fighting chance.  Gosh it is hard!

I love love love Tshidi,...  How the hell is it possible that no-one has not offered her deal already?
