Idols Top 7: Dominic bites the dust!

Who was surprised when Dominic Neil was finally given the red card? Not me. In last night’s live and very predictable results show, we saw the 20 year-old entertainer from Johannesburg shown the door…for exit. Not that it was a bombshell for many as Dominic’s previous 3 performances left everything sour to all our tongues! But for some, his exit was a sigh of relief and a case of “about time this happened!”; can anyone who’s anti the latter-mentioned defend themselves?

For once I think the voters got it right this time, I am not Dominic’s hater but at the current level Idols is, nobody should be delievering nothing but a bucket of old juiceless ragged oranges. I was tempted to slit my wrists in frustration during his ‘Paradise’ performance. Speaking of votes, who votes for Monde? Why was Simphiwe who did so well interpreting R Kelly’ ‘Sign of a victory’ in the bottom 3 while Monde who’s performance lacked salt survived the darkest most-feared bottom trilogy?

Shekinah, Khaya (pictured above) and Tshidi’s ingredients are still working big-time for them. There is no doubt that they are going for the gold in full-force! These 3 are not here to play games.

Poor Melissa, she looked like she was about to break in half when Proverb announced who was going home. Did she miss the brief about the brutality of this competition when she entered? Melissa, you cannot melt under pressure in this race and next time choose a song people know.

Did Dom deserve the boot? *reaches for my cough mixture*

Did you vote? What do you think? Was your favourite saved?

I voted for Monde I enjoy listening to the brother. Simphiwe Nooooooo the Sign Of Victory is a nice song AFRICA loves the song but he did not do well. I will forever support Monde and Tshidi.

I think for the first time South Africa will vote right. I don't know how Dom has been surviving. Now we can see the Top 6 but still think Monde, Melissa & Simphiwe should up there game. As For Tshidi, Khaya & Shekinah they just need to keep going an extra mile. Wow!

competition so good... now send monde and melissa home and lets have the best top 4, then drop simphiwe and i don't mind any of the three running away with the crown....

but i still repeat Khaya has an unfair support base its not exciting... his two presentations in joyous celebrations, and appearances in One Gospel will make him win this competition..

i just wish the playing field was level between him, shekinna and tshedi.. they are all just good

actually i should have written frequent appearance in One Gospel....

Next to leave will be Melissah, followed by Simphiwe then Monde.

Top Two are my DIVA's Shekinah and Tshidi

"I think for the first time South Africa will vote right" Really? is it because there hasn't been a black African winner? Guys, what is pop music? is it Toya Delazy typa music, if it is, besides her, do we have other black musicians who sing pop music?

He was supposed to not even be in the top 10, but i loved his style. Im going to miss Dom Dom *cries* ...People vote for Monde, and i think he deserves to be in the top 5 even.

29 Aug 2012 12:10

I am soo happy for Monde..
y is he bein under-rated? he has better vocal abilities than Simphiwe and Mellisa. I would put him in top 5..and top 4 even.

Minah
29 Aug 2012 12:13

Me too bosch for some reason Monde is always under-rated and for that I will forever vote for him. I always think of that night when he performed R. Kelly's song when a woman loves.

29 Aug 2012 12:26

Next will be Monde, then Mellisa, and then Simphiwe....And then let the games begin.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another bites the dust ((((singing))) hmmm hmmm hmmm

Tazteeq
29 Aug 2012 12:33

Simphiwe might surprise everyone, Shekinah might get voted off before him and you end up with Simphiwe and Khaya in the Top 2 OR Simphiwe and Tshidi...this can turn out anyway...

Monde is under-rated true but his performance on Sunday wasnt up to scratch. Its quite shocking to see just how much of a fan base he has...something tells me Melissa will be chopped next!

Minah
29 Aug 2012 12:54

Khaya is over-rated

Friend
29 Aug 2012 13:11

Guys, don't under-estimate Monde too, you will be surprised the crowds' favourite Khaya or Shek not making it  kwi top 3. I'b voting  for Monde coz Tshidi, Shek & Khaya are guaranteed a place kwi starting 11, oops till the end.  Mellisa is next.

Tazteeq
29 Aug 2012 13:30

Khaya is over-rated

@Minah, Ditto...

Minah
29 Aug 2012 13:34

Friend I agree I will vote for Monde like I did the past three days. And as for Khaya i think he belongs to the choir not idols i thin he should join I want to sing gospel and another thing I think Khaya will be Munyafied

tyma
29 Aug 2012 13:40

i like Simphiwe but his album wont sell, he only nows how to hit high notes, imagine listening to the hole album,'ABUSE TO THE EARS'

i love Monde, the Rosanna song he did proves he deserved a post in the top 6, hes grown sins he stopped ova perfoming(dancing to evry song). he can do any song, be it low, high, dance or cool

Tshidi's only good perfomance was that Whitney song, ever sins that i don think she deserves all this hailing................

i just wish in the near future, there can be two winners, male and female vocalists.

Shekki is good but she wont win, she just deserves to have her own album, khaya you good, but it will be good if u go and join Joyous before Idols ruin you .

Melissa, no hard feelings but i think its time a black person wins PERIOD.

Friend
29 Aug 2012 13:47

@Minah, Munyafied, lol. you right yazi. he is not gonna clinch this one.

@Tyma, Melissa, no hard feelings but i think its time a black person wins PERIOD.

it's about time indeed. Monde still stands a chance, Shek, Tshidi are Mr. A's favourites.

29 Aug 2012 13:49

Taz that was a long wait for this article.... lol....

Sunday was finally an exciting show with an exception of Monde, Dom and Melissa.....

Khaya came back but I still think the song choice didnt do him justice.

Simphiwe, I like the dude he is there to win it, he must just tone down on screeeeeeming! besided he is doing a fab job!

Shekhi! that's my girl! I love her! even though I agree with Gareth, she neds to go easy on those drags! they do get annoying, but WOW that was an awesome perfomance!

Tshidi, this girl is just talented, she doesnt need this competition, she's got a recording deal waiting for her, She was Awesome!

Nondu Hadz
29 Aug 2012 13:55

Please leave Khaya alone. @tyma i agree with you thsidi only did that whitney houston song well. We all know here whether overrated or not Khaya is good and he can be idol material

Friend
29 Aug 2012 13:58

May the best Idol win, busy voting my favourite.

Minah
29 Aug 2012 14:00

Monde and Tshidi Top Two, If only people can stop focussing of what media is saying about Khaya then i am sure Monde will be on top two. I enjoy this man his album can sell. Khaya must just go and compete with Keke, Bejamin Dube and William Sejake

Minah
29 Aug 2012 14:00

I forgot the Big Fish as well

Minah
29 Aug 2012 14:02

@Nondu Hadz Khaya is good but as a leding man at Joyous Celebration besides I cant stand his nose they just remind me of Lyod Cele's nose except his are smaller

tyma
29 Aug 2012 14:26

i dont have anyting against Khaya, media frenzy or not he deserves it, i think Tshidi also had a stunt in the media but people hardly spoke bwt her, why did she have to disclose her"single" status, who cares if shes dating or not, nxa!

dont no if im not wel informed, but idols winners fades away, i think the runner ups are the ones succeeding, i mean look at Lloyd, the way he is so popular ud swear he was in season7.it was a blessing in disguise that he ddn win.

so shekki and Khaya shud be runner ups so wel see a lotta them,

Tazteeq
29 Aug 2012 14:42

@tyma, Tshidi didnt really know what she was doing when she told Sowetan that she is single. the journalist asked her and she just answered honestly and next thing Sowetan was receiving a truck-load of letters from men who want to marry her..it was not a stunt at all.

and people, in all honesty, Tshidi has not only outdone herself with the Whitner Houston song, all her performances are always great.

Whether Khaya wins or not, he will end up as a Gospel singer, i cannot picture him singing any other genre...i just think he doesnt belong on Idols

Cande
29 Aug 2012 14:45

ye i agree, Khaya is overated! he had a good audition yes, but that was it

Minah
