All likers of things converged in full force at the Walter Sisulu Square this past Saturday when the Channel O Music Awards streamed live to 53 African Countries on the small screens.
Tazteeq
The hosts were your gal B* who changed garbs 21 times and Nigerian artist Ice Prince. Fashion, cameras, lights and excessive partying were just some of the components which reigned as the night unfolded and victors won (see them all
HERE). Can I mention that 3 packed floors with non-stop African street and urban smash beats contained the crowd?; all this coupled with an abundant supply of drinks flowing like milk and honey in Canaan. After all, best things happen in 3’s. That right there, was just FUN-Tazteeq!
Your hosts!

I was still enjoying myself after the beautiful show and red carpet they put on until I had to leave and they burst fake bombs at the exit to lift up their human robotics. I nearly had a heart attack because some of us, as buffy as we are, we have very fragile hearts. Having said that, this is not to say the Channel didn’t put on a great show, I have never had so much fun in a very long time. I can get used to living like this.
One of the Angola' Stars who presented an award
Thank God fellow TVSA blogger Cande came with us to the Awards. Phela she seems to know all the artists from fellow African countries. I should start watching more TV and spend less time at the gym. Speaking of gym, did you guys see that buffed up guy receiving the what what award? It seems nigger is obsessed with gym. I am surprised he is a singer and not a WWE Raw star.
Oh reign Mr Muscle!

The whole Nasrec park and ride thingie for the VIP’s was a great idea because I don’t see how I could have found Kliptown, let alone Walter Sisulu square on my own. Big Up to Mnet for that, speaking of which don’t we just hate it that there is never anything to bitch about as far as mnet events are concerned? Like yah, they always have everything organised to the last bit. But the event started about 30 minutes late. African time, agggh!
Zimbabwean Beauty and ex Big Brother housemate Vimbai was covering the event for STAR Gist
I also felt like the awards were too ‘South African’ if you know what I mean. Like there was a SA’n presenting each and every category, 85% of the performers were SA’s and it’s just a pity that only 3 of the 13 awards went to SA artists that’s not counting the Oskido special recognition award off course. Like I don’t get how we continue complaining about SA not winning, when we hardly vote.
Tazteeq In the “lighter” things, Cama Gwini who has recently separated her name and released an afro-rock album was there in some gold and black. Her outfit proved that indeed less is more, remember her SAMA space outfit?
Slikour looked good, but it looked like he was going to a wedding.
Remember Thebe? He resurfaced! True Kwaito legend, but I have to ask, is the popular 90’s clothing shop Dunns still retailing?
Busi is such an underrated diva, the 3 mash-up performance with Micasa and Soweto Gospel Choir was the bomb, talk about saving the best for last.

Bonang, B*, You girl B is very talented, she did a very good job with Ice Prince and from her tweet yesterday it sounds like big things are about to come her way *side eyes sabc1* , this girl was born for this!!! And Ice Prince, just last year he was crowned the new comer of the year and this year he was one of the hosts for the show, great job and well done to him. The production team also deserves a * for a job well done!
Flamboyant Nigerian Channel O presenter Denrele
The after party neh, like I have nothing much to say ka gore it started at about 23:00 and we bounced just after 12 and the bar was still opened, pity I had to drive to PTA after that so I couldn’t indulge heheh.
Dr Malinga's unforgettable kicks!
I got some pics of Khanyi and her man. I still don’t believe this relationship of theirs yaz, like yah that’s just me. What if there is some married sugar daddy out there who is maintaining her and her lifestyle and Tebogo is just a disturbance in our eyes? Huh? What if? We hope to see you next year Channel O awards

Khanyi Mbau looked like a fake Nicky Minaj. Mara what happened to Khanyi setting trends and not following them?
Thanks to Channel O for the open bar that never closed. I loved my drinks thank you. Overall, the event was uber cool and have you seen an after-party venue that has three floors? Now that’s what I call style. Can Feather Awards please take hints? *hides*
I must say we had fun and the Channel O’s were by far thee BEST, well-organized event I’ve had to attend this year. Big ups to the org team. There’s no way we’ll miss ANY of your future events.
