For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a desire to get a sneak peek of what happens behind the scenes in preparation of a major awards ceremony, such as the South African Music Awards. We’ve kinda seen the behind-the-scenes in terms of the production of award ceremonies, but it seems there’s a bit of shyness rolling back the time to show how an individual would prepare for such a prestigious occasion. Thanks to the Samsung Galaxy camera, TVSA was able to capture all the moments of this journey.
First and foremost the biggest stress is getting an invitation or access to the do.
Oh, BTW… Everyone wants proper access. Aint nobody got time for extra-strong access - we want direct access to the big names in the industry. Lol. Thank heavens TVSA always get proper invites.
Then, the next stress as Bonang says it “Hair, dress, nails.” There’s obviously the option of going BIG by either hustling a designer to sponsor you with the dress or maybe the other option
(which a number of Mzansi shlebs can’t swallow)… buy a dress from a designer. I chose the third option – I went shopping for the dress… hehehe…

You take 8 shots of the same picture and it chooses the best one out of the 8)I went natural and pulled off 2 hours at the hair salon to crack a curled Mohawk. It’s kinda nightmarish to spend hours at the hair-salon, only to find that every 5th person at the SAMAs had a similar hairdo. Well… That’s what ended up happening this past Saturday. #yawn

After weeks, or in my case - DAYS, of putting the entire look together… it’s almost show-time. The SAMAs weekend starts off on a Friday with the first award ceremony
of not so important categories. Then afterwards it’s a mega partying night, as radio stations and record labels try to outdo each other as they host various pre-parties. Imagine being spoiled to so much choice…
The trick about spending the entire weekend in Sun City is to
go Gupta style have “proper” accommodation in the vicinity. For some of us who’ve learnt from the past, this means your OWN room which includes atleast breakfast and dinner for 3 days. And did I emphasize that the hotel MUST be INSIDE Sun City? I’ll just say 9 out of 10 times that’s not the case, whether you are media or a celebrity. *SMH*

This year is seems everyone walked the yellow carpet… Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
Here’s the amazing Samsung Galaxy camera, with its’ mind blowing features.
It comes equipped with apps that you’d ordinarily find on your smartphone. We call it the Bugatti of all cameras. It’s a must have and I give it a cool perfect 10. It certainly defies technology. There are waaaaay too many features on the camera - you must simply get yourself one.
