It’s Monday and that means time for us to dish out yet another outspoken edition of weekend gossip and strongly speak our minds on celeb gossip and sometimes, we do not spare the media.
...and the top story making headlines this morning is that Zenzo Ngqobe and Nokuthula Ledwaba have parted ways. Monday World readers will know the pair as Rhythm City’s Stone and Tshidi. The Sunday Sun reports that the pair ‘s break up is really taking its toll on poor Zenzo and the show’s producers have resorted to giving him a break because he was arriving late for shoots due to stress.
We at Monday World are very saddened because ever since the news of their love broke out in 2008, we have secretly been hoping to get an invite to the pair’s wedding. They made a great couple and they looked so perfect together. I was really in love with the idea of them being in love.
Yazi it is sad when you are looking for people and reasons to renew your hopes in true love and such a magnificent young couple ends things. Speaking as a freshly single myself, a break up is never easy and is bound to take a toll on oneself. Zenzo, if you up for it, you and I can start a support group. Kodwa yazi, I am wondering what made them break up. Surely it couldn’t have been that bad? Like many other broken relationships out there, maybe it wasn’t meant to be.
Nokuthula, you may probably be hurting, but my love, isn’t there a possibility that you may give him another chance. Clearly he is hurting because he loves you. You guys have been staying together for so many years kaloku.
While still on the issue of love, we at Monday World were petrified yesterday when we read in the Sunday World that Isidingo actor Meshack Mavuso has allegedly impregnated a Durban woman and subsequently asked her to terminate the pregnancy. Once his wife got involved, insults were insults and threats were threats.
The Durban woman goes by the name of Naledi Gcwabe. She and Meshack’s wife Neo, have been swearing at each other and calling each other all the names under the sun and I think while the swearing is unfolding, Meshack is busy looking, standing by the side, enjoying the match.
Kante vele why do some women have to be fools njalo? Bandla, if he cheats on you, why call another woman a slut and a marriage wrecker? Why not take out your issues with your man? Why don’t you stop being a fool and walk outta that door to your nearest divorce court? Bathong, Neo?! And le wena, what’s the thing again? Yes, Naledi, you are not a star after all. A star knows better than to fool around with a married man. Le teng, you know he is married. Meshack and his wife were on the cover of Drum I think back in 2008 during their wedding day. Why not find your own man or walk to your nearest Adult World store to get thou some toys. Eish, the foolishness of some women never ceases to amaze me. Vusi warrix, you should know better than to impregnate a woman and calling her a whore afterwards. Why didn’t you call her a whore when you were in bed with her? Did you call her a whore when you were coming in Durban? I didn’t think so! Mxm!
Dineo Ranaka has been fired from YFM allegedly for hogging tabloid headlines. If that is true, shame on YFM for firing poor little Dinny because we at Monday World are under the impression that Dinny has explained her medical condition and asserted that she was never on drugs. And because it’s her who said so, I believe her. Le teng, you may be doing her a very big favour. Dineo is also an actress and vibey Club 808 host so this may just spell the beginning of new things for the multitalented star and we are holding our thumbs that something big comes up for her. The petite schelb has come a long way and she no longer lives under the shadow of her big sister Manaka Ranaka. Phela when Dineo first launched into entertainment, it was very hard for us as the public to think of her without thinking of Manaka. We wish you all the best Dinny!
Hang on, the Sunday World sometimes cannot be taken seriously. They seem to be on something else those guys yazi! *hides* Akere the Sunday Sun gave a clear article that Dineo’s time at the station has ended. Not that she is fired. Sunday World, we understand you are looking for scandals and that is a good thing. But lying and saying Dineo is fired aint on because Dineo took to Twitter to set the record straight. You that bad guys! However, well done to you on the Vusi scandal, now that’s some serious tabloid journalism right there. You did good!
British actor Idris Elba is set to play Nelson Mandela in the soon to be filmed Long Walk to Freedom which will be based on Madiba’s autobiography of the same name, reports the City Press. This comes less than a year since there was a very big noise about American actress Jennifer Hudson playing Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in the soon to be released film Winnie. Long Walk to Freedom casting director Monyeen Lee who is known for her sharp tongue in Class Act, says there was no South African actor who is tall enough to play Madiba.
Other major roles will however be played by South African actors. Though Idris hasn’t signed on the doted line yet, he is busy going on and on somewhere else in the world announcing with excitement that he is set to play Madiba. The playing of Madiba by foreign actors who quite frankly cannot even pronounce Madiba’s village of Qunu is an injustice to the book written by the man himself. Local actors have always been up in arms each time overseas actors are given precedence when playing Madiba and other major political roles.
This is indeed an insult to our actors and Monyeen Lee should know better before she says nywe nywe nywe about local actors again! This whole story has got box office numbers written all over it and nothing to do with the right actor!!!!
Moving right along, Aurthur Mafokate is this year celebrating 20 years in the music industry. The City Press’ 7 had a very beautiful article about him and his work over the years. Arthur told the City Press that the best thing about him celebrating 20 years in the industry is that as he does so, his son is releasing an album. What a way to celebrate indeed! Well done Arthur and here is to another 20 years of pushing it in the industry against big music labels.
