Ruffling some Feathers

As celebs are busy readying themselves for one of South Africa’s most rabblerousing awards ceremony, I just wanna ruffle some Feathers too. Metro FM Awards are pretty much broke this year so I fear the same will be happening to Feathers since they will now be broadcast on SABC1.

Feathers cofounder

Firstly, let’s take a look at the list of nominees and I tell who should win, let’s try who I want to win and why, as well as my beef with this so called gay awards.

Firstly, broadcasting this on welfare TV will be to the detriment of the showpiece. Look at what happened to the Metros. But ke, akere one of the organisers of this event is a Selimathunzi producer. We know people at the Feathers don’t select their words, they just speak. Now people’s speeches will be shuuuushed and all.

Minenhle Dlamini

Another thing ne, eintlike what is Minnie Dlamini doing in the Best Styled Female category? Isn’t that a category that Bonang was nominated in last year and won? I have no problem with Minnie and in fact I think she should land this Feather in her cap but we all know how folks like comparing Minnie with Bonang even though the two ladies are now sick and tired of Live.

The Venue in Melrose Arch seems to be a claustrophobic venue. Last time I was there for the Saftas launch, I could barely walk to take pictures. Anyhow, there may just be a breaking story there because of claustrophobia.

Plus, the nomination list smacks of SABC people! Don’t etv and other channels on Dstv have people worthy of the Feathers? Anyway, that’s story for another day.

Tina

In all honesty, shame poor Tina Mkwaiwa who shot to fame by dating Prosper, hasn’t had much luck lately. She is being forced to have sex with her man at gun point and not so long ago she claimed to having had a miscarriage. Then stories of a homosexual lover came to the fore. Be that as it may, Tina is full of antics and I cannot put anything past her. As mellow dramatic as she is, she cannot beat Sophie Nadaba’s Keith Harrington in the Drama Queen of the year category.

Tshidi

Truth be told neh, Tshidi Tenyane of Idols Fame deserves the award. She has worked hard for it. In fact, alleged fake Keith and Tina must just grab their chairs and join Nonhle Thema at a corner somewhere over there toe!

sbu

Dj Sbu must just take the Best Styled male and go back to Metro FM. Linda Makhanya and AKA are not tough competition. But ke, Feathers may just surprise us and give it to AKA the best way they know how.

Toya

So this Kabomo guy is actually a musician? O_O Have you heard his music? The thing about people being a jack of all trades is that they become masters of none. Akere this guy was editing a magazine and the next thing we know he is singing. Hai suka maphephe! Toya Delazy must just take this award and paint the town red with her colour blocking.

Lindiwe

Diva Extraordinare award should not go to Lindiwe Sisulu because she must focus on service delivery. Khanyi Dlomo must also focus on growing the Destiny brands and Ndalo Media. As for Michelle Botes, she must just go to gym and stop complaining she has gained weight after quitting smoking. This award should just go Lindiwe Mazibuko. At least if her career as a politician fails she knows she can start one as a socialite.

Kgomo and hubby

Speaking of socialites makes us go straight to Socialite of the Year category. Kgomotso Christopher should just take this award and not because I like her but since you all don’t know how it feels like to touch that figure of hers. Linda Moeketsi should concentrate on being a PR person. It seems to me that his PR’ing is all about himself than anyone or anything he should PR’ing. Forgive me but who the hell is Miza Modibedi? Maybe I should start reading those out and about pages in the Drum mag. Lerato Kganyago must relax a bit, she will win next year.

Jay Antsey Feathers

As for the Hot Chick of the Year, Kgomotso Christopher must make some space for teenagers toe and so should Gail Nkoane. Doesn’t Gail have a wedding to plan or something? Melinda Bam should be focusing on Miss Universe or whatever or busy prepare herself to tell us the truth about her bunking the Miss World thingie! Yes, I am saying Jay Anstey who plays Charlie Holmes in Isidingo should take this. Has any of you read the story in heat! mag where it was reported that she had a one night stand with that American film star whom they were filming a movie together? Besides, Jay is all that and I like her.

Lunga

As for hunk of the year, I think the competition is between Lunga Shabalala and Tyrone Keogh.

Tyrone

As for the other two niggers, they are like any other Joe to me. Lunga will win because he exposed his assets in that underwear thingie and as for Tyrone, I think he should also be an underwear model then he can win.

Thuli

As for role model of the year, Caster Semenya and Chad le Clos must set their eyes on Rio 2016 and stop pretending to be changing the world. People changing the world are Thuli Madonsela and Khanyi Dlomo but my money is on Thuli.

chad

Where I honestly feel Chad deserves an award is in the Sports Personality of the Year. Katlego Mphela et al must focus on qualifying for 2014 World Cup manje and bringing it back home, silly!

Bonang Matheba

As for Bonang Matheba, we have had enough of her to last us a lifetime. I mean really now, just this month alone, she is on three magazine covers. Like duh, phuuuuleeez!!!!!!!!! But she must win that Fag Hag because her stylist is gay and her designer is also gay. What more gay do you want to hear to hand over this award to her?

fresh and euphonik

DJ Fresh and Euphonik deserve a cutest couple award but I think the Feathers have done injustice to Rapulana Seiphemo and Kenneth Nkosi’s bromance. I mean really now! If the niggers are not partying together they are acting in a film together. So Feathers, I instruct you to at least give them a special mention during the ceremony. Mxm *RollsEyes*

Brighton

In that spirit of issuing instructions, can we please see Brighton Ngoma being nominated and winning in hot what what male thingie next year?

DerekDerek

There were rumours prior to the announcement of the nominees that they were gonna introduce “We think you are gay and it’s ok” category. Whatever happened to it? In all honesty, Derek Van Damme who is eNews Chief Meteorologist, Sizwe Dlomo, Lunga Tshabalala and Speak Out Presenter Duncan Senye should be nominated in there. I hope you lot will not go on a hating spree on me for adding personalities in this category. Akere Feathers are controversial like that!
