Termed “popular blog” by the Drum magazine to avoid crediting sources, Just Curious (JC) is hosting a very first from the South African blogosphere. JC bawss Lelo Boyana aka Brown Shugga together with her team announced the nominees for the inaugural Just Curious Awards this past weekend at the Winston Hotel in Melrose.
Leading with a pack of approximately eight nominations, the awards may just as well be termed the Bonang Matheba Awards. Love her or hate her, there is no ignoring Bonang Matheba and she will most arguably go down history books as the lady who revolutionarised the entertainment pop culture. She has been hard at work and she has earned all the nominations, both the flattering and unflattering ones, and when all is said and done, Queen B is the Queen of both glam and fights as the nomination lists suggests.
The Just Curious Awards aim to celebrate and salute the leading performers and flirtatious stories of the past year as well as showcase South African entertainment and its flair. The fifteen competitive awards includes categories such as Catfight of the Year, Vodacom Best Celeb on Social Media, Ford Celebrity of the Year and You Were Robbed Award. The winners from each category will be revealed and presented with their awards at a glamorous “JC Awards13” on Sunday, 08 December 2013.
Nominations for the JC Awards were culled from hundreds of submissions from Just Curious readers and fans. JC is grateful to the readers for applying their minds and producing such quality nominees in each category, reads the press release.
