Coming up on Carte Blanche this Sunday (9 February 2014):

Water Wars

South Africa is fraught with reports of corruption, maladministration and fraud in municipalities across the country. A lack of water, our most vital resource, has seen people resort to violent protest. But, to add to their outrage, they also find disgusting, foul-smelling stuff, not to mention worms gushing from their taps. Carte Blanche finds out why temperatures are at boiling point over these issues.

Producer: Bernadette Maguire
Presenter: Bongani Bingwa
Journalist: Sasha Schwendenwein

Our Killing Fields

In 1987 a hormone inhibiting herbicide, now known to be dangerous, was banned in KZN, but not before wiping out an entire farming industry in the Tala Valley. Now, this herbicide called 2,4-D, is being sprayed on fields and pastures across the country and could be causing serious illness. Carte Blanche goes digging for answers.

Producer: Julie Laurenz
Presenter: Derek Watts

Ruby Wax

In her TV comedy routines, she interviewed Madonna in bed and rifled through Imelda Marcos's shoes. Now, for the second time, Ruby Wax premieres a new show in South Africa, before taking it around the world.

She’s just completed a world tour with a show focusing on her depression and is starting a brand new season - Sane New World - in Cape Town. In an interview with Carte Blanche, Wax talks frankly about depression.

Producer: Angus Begg
Presenter: Derek Watts

Carte Blanche is on M-Net on Sundays at 19h00.
