eKasi+, available on new satellite platform OpenView HD, will broadcast comprehensive eNews Izindaba bulletins every evening at 8pm starting from Tuesday, 15 October 2013.
The bulletins will cover local, international, sports news and the weather. eNews Izindaba will also feature live interviews on topical issues of the day and provide a round-up of the day’s news.
The slot will offer news content that’s both informative and engaging to help viewers make informed decisions and participate effectively in national conversations on matters that impact their lives.
“It’s an exciting phase for the viewers as this provides them with more news options in their own language,” says Phathiswa Magopeni, head of Terrestrial News Services at eNCA.
News Anchors:
* Experienced journalist Vusizwe Langa, who launched his television news career at eNews, rejoins the channel to form part of the isiZulu news team as a news anchor and producer.
*Slindile Xaba is currently the output editor at eNCA, an experienced journalist who began her broadcasting career at iGagasi FM and later became the news achor at e.tv.
* Mabutho Ngcobo is a seasoned journalist who is driving the Cape Town isiZulu news desk.
Magopeni added that, "From a skills perspective, this provides a unique opportunity for us as a television news service to develop the set of skills and the capacity we need to produce superior content”.
