Coming up on Carte Blanche this Sunday (12 May, 2013):

CB25: The Community

2013 marks Carte Blanche’s 25th year on air ... a quarter of a century in which we’ve interviewed hundreds of extraordinary and selfless people who’ve helped make their communities and their country better places. Here’s a salute to some Carte Blanche Heroes.

Producer: Diana Lucas
Presenter: Derek Watts

Syria

The 16th Century French seer Nostradamus predicted that World War III would begin in the Middle East. While his prophecies are open to interpretation, it certainly looks as if a wider conflict is looming, with fighting spilling across the Syrian border. Carte Blanche finds Israel once again on high alert.

Producer: Paula Slier

Fighting Cyber Crime

The cyber crime underworld is more active than any other and, while the hits may not draw blood, they have a profound impact on business and banking. This week Carte Blanche travels to Israel, where an international unit combating cyber crime takes us behind the scenes to do battle with the online mafia.

Producer: Eugene Botha
Presenter: Devi Sankaree Govender
Journalist: Peter Griffiths

Pretty Yende

Every once in a while the world is given a great operatic talent - a soaring voice that stirs to the very core. Could South Africa’s Pretty Yende be such a voice - the next Maria Callas, Joan Sutherland, or Jessye Norman? Carte Blanche met up with her on a recent visit to Cape Town.

Producer: Carol Albertyn Christie
Presenter: Neo Motaung

Carte Blanche is on M-Net on Sundays at 19h00.
