Eva 3rd Degree 1

Singer Songwriter Sixto Rodriguez’s first album Cold Fact was released over forty years ago. Though unknown in America, his music had been a huge hit in South Africa since the 70s. Now years later, an Oscar-winning documentary has finally made him a star in his own country, and around the world.

South Africa has a special place in his heart and his daughter Eva was drawn to the place where her father’s music had resonated for so long. She settled in the beautiful Wilderness on the Cape Garden Route 12 years ago after a 20 year career as a fighter pilot in the United States military.

Now, she has turned her life towards the healing arts. She trained as a Sangoma in the Eastern Cape and has found a deep connection to South Africa.

Like her father Rodriguez, Eva focuses on freedom, enlightenment and harmony, a message South Africa and the rest of the world seems ready to hear.

3rd Degree travelled to the Wilderness to meet Eva and find out about her journey, and what it’s like to be the daughter of Sugarman.

3rd Degree is on e.tv, the eNews channel and SKY Digitial Platform in the UK - on Tuesdays at 21h30.

I love Eva and both her sisters, they are a beautiful reflection of their father. I am not able to listen to or view this e News xNews channel, (I live in Sacramento, CA, USA. I want to see this: Rodriguez-Echoes of Freedom. I would like to know if Eva is going to write a book about her father, it would be wonderful to know more about him and his daughters, but only if it is written by them who know him and their story the best.

Hi Eva, I had the opportunity of seeing the documentary on your father and was shocked to find out that I had been stationed with you at Ft. Riley Ks. I Live back in Detroit now after retiring. The story touched my heart and I have to say that you and your family have been blessed. I'll remember the 82nd Forever and you as well.
