TVSA can reveal that South Africa will be getting our very own version of The Bachelor, probably in March 2013.

 
Vusi 1 The Bachelor

Our sources have revealed to us that the series will be on either Vuzu or Mzansi Magic and that motivational speaker and entrepeneur Vusi Thembekwayo was approached to star in the show.

The only problem with casting him: he's already married!

Vusi made his TV impact on SABC1 two years ago on the reality show One Day Leader and has been married for three years so he's totally off the shelf. It doesn't surprise us that he was approached because he'd be a perfect catch if he didn't have a wife.

He's highly successful, he isn't over-exposed and being a motivational speaker, he wouldn't be at a loss for words when faced with needing to charm and disarm the inevitable cat fights.

With him off the table - who should The Bachelor be? Who would you like see?

I can't see SA ladies making a fool of themselves like Americans. The crying and silly cattiness that happens in the US show might not happen. Dunno if that's good or bad. I don't see this materialising!

I agree with Tee78,Thato molamu would make a great run,as well as "Jason -Generations",the new male presenter of Top Billing with blonde hair as well..

Thato Molamu aka Nicholas  is taken, Green.arrow you spot on, who would want to make fun of themselves on National TV after rejection. More than 20 gals kissing 1 guy & him lying to them that  there is  a connection bla!bla!

I must say i enjoy the American one though.

LOL @ boloyi. The only person whom I see doing this ke Kenny Kunene. SA we still find it hard to laugh at our selves, even the biggets fools and skelms would not wanna expose themselves because the reception will be harsher than people would find it amusing. If DJ Sbu or any celeb goes to the show and do the whole "making a connection with 20 people"... It will be national news, then he will loose gigs, etc. Bos sabc will be saying things like they don't wanna associate with him coz some 20 people will write to the bccsa that he is moraly un-this or that. If a successfull non celeb business man does that, he will loose contracts etc. There is a word that describes how sensitive SAns are for such shows. We are not ready yet. If they wanna copy the american staff, they muct copy the light staff, or they WILL have to water this one down, which has happened before...

ditto GA!our black guys are born cheaters with complicated love lives and hundred kids all over they wouldn't wanna expose emselves like on tv.almost every woman i was with in my hospital ward was there for men inflicted depression,i mean highly educated chicks.the stories they tell iyoh u realise you have seen *bleep!* yet in this world!some paying hefty lobolas for themselves and getting cheated on!

Uhhmm guys the Bachelor is a RICH guy not some guy on a soapie #reality check. I think 1st we need to see a list of businessmen (SINGLE) and bankers, ect men who are rolling with it. I'd love to see the bachelor SA style

GA you are right....Kenny Kunene would cut it, we need a man, who is not shy and will go all the way with the girls.  The man must be a liker of things and not be afraid to reject the ladies.  I can't wait for laughs!!

I agree. No famous person oready. @Mathaz, spot on, this needs a rich person who is a liker of things, who will handle the heavy criticism that will happen, and the fame that will come after. I'm not optimistic bout this one, but if it happens ill sure watch. LOL @ this bachelors and how they'll tell the girls especially arround top 6 that "I've falled for all of u".... The insanity! LOL

It wld be best to choose ordinary people with successful careers and wants a chance to be on tv instead of always giving celebs the spot light that they already have,well maybe those celebs that's doesn't know how to make their move can be welcomed!
