Carpe Diem
He’s a singer, songwriter, actor, rapper, dancer, recording artist and winner of many prestigious awards and accolades. He’s a mega, mega-star. He’s the Grammy® Award winning Chris Brown and he’s bringing his Carpe Diem world tour to South Africa later this year.

Presented by local promoter, Canoc Productions in association with Channel O, this multi-platinum artist will perform at the Coca Cola Dome, Johannesburg on Saturday, 15 December 2012, thereafter at the Outer Fields, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban on Monday, 17 December 2012 and ending the SA leg of the Carpe Diem tour with two concerts at the Grand West Arena, Cape Town on Wednesday, 19 December and Thursday, 20 December 2012.

Ticket sales open at Computicket on Monday, 1 October 2012 at 09h00.

“The wait for South African fans is over!” exclaims Pleasure Letsoalo of Canoc Productions, who previously also brought Trey Songz, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross to the country.

“December is the time of year when Canoc Productions has produced two consecutively mind blowing, sensational urban concerts and we proud to be delivering yet another highly-anticipated urban tour to our shores this December. Chris Brown is a BIG DEAL so we urge all concert-goers to get their tickets ahead of time to avoid disappointment.” says Letsoalo.

Loosely translated, “Carpe Diem” means ‘seize the day” and fans across the globe have been actively speculating for days online after Chris Brown posted an image featuring the words Carpe Diem and tour.

From Belgium to Ireland and from Germany to the Netherlands, fans are a buzz about the news of Chris Brown’s next world tour that will begin on 17 November in Norway and continue to 12 major European cities including Stockholm, Stuttgart, Basel and Paris before touching down on African soil.

“Being the leading music brand in Africa and Chris Brown’s undeniable star appeal, which pulls in major audiences across borders, it only made sense for Channel O to get involved with his Carpe Diem tour. We look forward to hosting Chris Brown and giving fans a chance to watch him perform live in South Africa,” says Nkateko Mabaso Channel O’s Head of Marketing & Publicity.

In his short but highly successful music career, this 23-year old singer-songwriter has collaborated with some of the biggest names in R&B, pop and hip hop including Juelz Santana, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Justin Bieber, Busta Rhymes, David Guetta and Big Sean.

Chris Brown’s number one hits include the platinum-plus status “With You,” “Forever,” and “Kiss Kiss” (featuring and produced by T-Pain). Last year he released F.A.M.E with hit songs like "Next To You” (featuring Justin Bieber and ”Yeah3x”).

The album was awarded a Grammy for ”Best R&B album” and won the ”Album of the Year” prize at the 2011 Soul Train Music Awards. F.A.M.E also went all the way to the No. 1 spot on the prestigious US Billboard 200 list. In July this year, Brown released his fifth album entitled Fortune. Featuring the gigantic hit song “Don’t wake me up”; the album has been topping the US lists.

Brown’s abilities extend beyond the concert arena and recording booth. He’s an experienced actor who made his big screen debut in Stomp The Yard in 2007 as well as a major role in the holiday feature film This Christmas and the 2010 movie, Takers.

Carpe Diem. Seize the day. Seize the moment to avoid disappointment. Book your tickets from 09h00 on Monday, 01 October 2012 at Computicket by calling 0861 915 8000, visit www.computicket.com or visit your nearest Computicket service centre. I can't forget how disrespectful and snobby he was when he cried wolf that Oprah turned against him even though he visited her school in "Africa". It's bad enough that my hard earned money is going to build/buy a mansion for some entitled person in KZN; can't add Chris Brown on that list as well.

Im also one of the magogos (29 to be exact) who cant just sit down when i hear "DONT WAKE ME UP" song. It brings out that white in me. Sometimes i just wish i had blonde hair coz i can't shake my bonding kaloku kuzovela lamiqolo and that scruffy steelwool hair of mine which doesnt look good. I just lose it whenever i hear this song playing.
