Coming up on Carte Blanche this Sunday (16 September, 2012):

Natalie du Toit

Three gold medals and a silver - the tally Natalie du Toit brought home from her last-ever Paralympics. Natalie spoke to Carte Blanche about the ups and downs of her years in the pool.

Producers: Carol Albertyn Christie & Diana Lucas
Presenter: Derek Watts
Journalist: Chwayitisa Futshane

Diesel Skimming

While we battle the rising cost of living, assuming that some of the blame for rocketing prices is the ever-increasing price of fuel, transport costs are also the result of illegal activity, namely diesel skimming. Carte Blanche caught some of these crooks in the act, while the cops looked on.

Producer: Nicky Troll
Presenter: Chantal Rutter Dros
Journalist: Amalia Christoforou

Equestrian

An Olympic controversy that refuses to die is that of Alex Peternell, the former ballet dancer turned rider, whose determination has unearthed a maze of misinformation and mismanagement. Now, with a commission of inquiry looming, the Equestrian Association’s lawyer says there was collusion. Carte Blanche finds out more.

Producer: Sophia Phirippides
Presenter: Chantal Rutter Dros
Journalist: Susan Comrie

Fracking

South Africa could be sitting on the fifth largest natural gas deposit in the world and the scramble for exploration rights has been compared to the 19th Century Gold Rush.

With the fracking moratorium lifted, some say it’s just a matter of time before the floodgates to the Karoo are opened. Carte Blanche speaks to the main players.

Producer: Liz Fish
Presenter: Devi Sankaree Govender

Carte Blanche is on M-Net on Sundays at 19h00.
