Wilfred was originally scheduled to air on M-Net Series in March but was pulled from the schedule at the last minute - probably because of Wildred's scandalous behaviour.
It premieres on Vuzu tonight (Monday, 3 September) at 23h30.
If you've been close to a dog you'll know that they're
definitely human. They're hiding in dog suits, camouflaged in society so that they can get up to antics that would never be allowed if they were wearing people bodies.
A new comedy called Wilfred premieres on Vuzu tonight (Monday, 3 September) at 23h30 and exposes the truth about them, with the help of famous hobbit Elijah Wood.
Elijah stars as Ryan - a depressed former lawyer who's given up the law in search of meaning in his life. He reluctantly agrees to dogsit his neighbours dog Wilfred - he agrees because he has a crush on his neighbour - and he soon discovers that Wilfred's able to have conversations with him.
Everyone else sees a dog but Ryan sees a rude dude in a dog suit who smokes a bong and gives him a rough time. One dogsitting session leads to two then three and Wilfred starts challenging Ryan's perceptions about everything - as dogs always do.
Australian comedian Jason Gann plays Wilfred and does so perfectly. He's the co-creator of the series and he's played Wilfred twice - first in Australia. An Australian version aired in Australia for two seasons, the rights were sold internationally and Fox FX bought the US version.
On first impressions, you might think that the show looks lame and purile - that it's about a tacky guy in a badly sewn dog suit. But don't be misled - it's brilliant.
It's hysterical, rude and four dimensional and also has rad inspirational mottos and quotes. Each episode starts with a quote and the episode goes on to reveal why the quote started the episode.
Whether you speak to your pooch or not, I'd highly recommend catching it. Here's a cool vid. of the cast revealing more:
