Yes, the small “v” on that title is intentional. I don’t know who valentine is and I reserve my right to not celebrate him.
Anyway, let me not give him more airtime than he already has on this day.. This week’s Monday World comes to you from carino’s box, and I have to say I am deeply honored that as a loyal reader and follower of Monday World, I have been given this opportunity to write on it.
Thanks, maki, my friend, I hope the little girl has come okay.
The first thing I will say is that I saw Thabo Mdluli and his wife perform on Sis Rebekah’s show last night and first I was like.. WTF? Then I warmed up to their voices and though I didn’t get why this show was celebrating valentine’s, I thought Thabo and his wife made a great duet. Monday World supports and celebrates commitment and for that, we give this couple this piece of advertising.
I think she was wearing that dress last night, but Im not here to talk about those things.
Bigups to the Mdlulis, 11years is a long time, and you are still going strong. May God continue to bless you.
Monday World has decided to give Bishop Tutu some free publicity and announce his tourism show on SABC 3. Bathong, when you see the great Bishop dragging his purple robe over the mountains of Cape Town, he is not doing a prayer of the nation.
That thing is in fact, a ‘trailer’ of his own “
oh Shucks Shabalala”. I haven’t watched the show and I’m not about to say anything about it. It is just the picture of the purple garment on the mountains that is kinda disturbing.
Anyway, still on SABC 3, I am not sure if I was shocked or impressed when I saw Mme Noeleen Maholwana-Sangqu doing some interviews at the MET. You see, it is exciting for her that finally! she gets to be off that
3Talk seat, – but seeing her asking the Yfm twins what inspired their feathery dresses just somehow felt a bit un3Talk.
I know that perhaps her producers are trying to “get her out there” but if out there means doing what Selimathunzi and RGB does, I’m not very sure if it’s appropriately “out there”. That’s just what Monday World thinks.
Moving right along. The jury is out on Monday World –
Intersexions has run its course, taught its lessons and we are now tired of seeing that lady’s five fingers. Can we get done already?
Season 2 of
Sokhulu and Partners (
the best thing on TV since Justice For All) is premiering on Wednesday 3 March and we totally welcome change.
It is going to be an absolute pleasure watching the Sokhulu team every Wednesday. I remember when Season 1 started, the discussion on TVSA was more about the hand of the lady in blue. Concern was that it is a bit not really womanly. Not sure if today's bloggers would feel the same way.
And finally,
...Monday World just want to be politically relevant.
