South Africa is capitvated by the high-profile drug smuggling case involving the State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele’s wife, Sheryl and alleged Nigerian drug lord, Frank Nabolisa.
Special Assignment broadcasts an exclusive interview with the convicted drug mule, Tessa Beetge, who is alleged to be involved in the case.
Beetge was arrested at Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo from Lima in Peru when police discovered the raw cocaine with a street value of more 3-million Rand in her bag.
Beetge will be seen from inside the Sao Paulo Female Penitentiary in Brazil where she’s serving jail time.
The state has charged Cwele and Nabolisa for drug dealing, drug trafficking and recruiting drug mules, and is currently trying to arrange Beetge’s testimony.
In this interview the 34-four-year old mother of two young children from KZN talks about her life prior to her arrest, her journey from South Africa to Colombia, Peru and Brazil where she was arrested.
