On 3rd Degree this Tuesday, 17 August 2010:

Episode Title: Secrets and Lies

Teaser ...

In a township near Cape Town, a study has shown that over a period of three months young men had an average of six sexual partners each. Most of these encounters happened while they were in steady relationships with girlfriends.

This trend of having regular sex with a number of different partners, is fuelling the spread of HIV. For every two people put on ARVs, another five are HIV+.

In a series of frank discussions with men and women living with HIV/AIDS, 3rd Degree puts their choices about sexuality and relationships under the spotlight. What emerges, is a picture of female vulnerability and male dominance.

3rd Degree is on e.tv on Tuesdays at 21h30.

I'm interested in seeing the discussion and what it reveals about men and women's roles in it all 'cos at a glance it doesn't seem fair to argue that women are the victims - if guys are having sex with six partners - those partners are women, which means they're making the next guy just as vulnerable in the same way.

wow...im shocked at the accounts i heard on the program today. Ive heard such myths exist, but actually hearing from the people who belived in them is frightening.

"She was chubby, looked healthy so i didnt think she could be positive"
"I cheated becos he cheated"
"Why use a condom because welove each other...."
"Phillandering because our grandfarhers had more than one wive" ......my fury at the president arises yet again!

So sad that even the activists have given up on the A (abstinance) in ABC....

I simply cant believe what im hearing.

I hope mentalities are changing as time goes by.
This is sad??
