simon_cowell_largeCheck it ... this story about Simon Cowell's imminent departure from AI has just gone live on Entertainment Weekly:

American Idol Exclusive: Simon Cowell's replacement won't be named before season's end, says source.

I'm super-disappointed about it. I'm clinging to the hope that it's all some sort of scam to create buzz for the Season 9 finale because the show will never be the same without him. It just isn't possible to replace him.

It really makes it feel as if this the Start of the End for the series. I reckon it has one more season left in it to try someone new and then that'll be It.

No matter how cool or good or pro. the takeover person is, I just don't see that anything they could do can save the show without him.

Without him?The show is already suffering from relatively low audience numbers.

Yeah, I reckon it's cos of the standard of contestants and that it would bounce back with a fresh, vibey bunch of contestants but not without Simon.

The show will never be the same without simon.....but the show will survive. Though its rankings have fallen, its still the most watched show in the US. And down here in africa, we love it too...
So AI has a long life span
