Sarah Jessica Parker, as Meryl Morgan, a highly successful real estate company owner is separated from her also extremely successful lawyer husband Paul Morgan, portrayed by Hugh Grant. Their personal business flourish as their relationship is in turmoil due to both having issues the other could not deal with.
When this New York couple witnesses a murder and their faces are added onto the hit-list, they require witness protection from the Feds. They are removed from their comforts and are sent to a place where they need to be safe, from the killers, technologies and, maybe, from each other.
The Morgans
Sarah Jessica Parker is still the perfect prim Sex and the City persona, or that is how I viewed her. It felt like I was watching her do what I have seen her do in the series. Same goes for Hugh grant, his portrayal in most of his movies still comes through in this movie. If you are a fan of these stars, you will enjoy the movie.
Jackie and Adam, the Morgan's personal assistants
I enjoyed the scenes when their personal assistants. The acting from Jessie Liebman, as Adam Feller – Paul Morgan’s assistant, and Elizabeth Moss, as Jackie Drake – Meryl Morgan’ assistant was humorous and was done very well.
The genre allocated to this movie is comedy, but I find Drama more befitting. There is a bit of humour in the movie, but very dry. It also felt like a chick-flick type of movie. So, it gets a 2/5 stars from me because it really had nothing I had not seen before.
The movie starts showing on the 22 January 2010, at Ster-kinekor.
