Just like everyone else I am also excited that its a new year and hoping to see NEW things and that includes on my Television set too. So far everyone probably knows its the year of soccer and also after the noise made about whether SABC was to broadcast AFCON or not. Well why am I writing this? Why the hell did SABC sign the Billion Rand TV deal to broadcast AFCON 2009? Forget about where are they going to get that amount of money since they asked the goverment for R2 Billion Rands bailout but why the flip are we watching it? Our soccer team didnt make it for starters and dont give me the crap of we hosting World Cup and had to. Anyway before I continue with my anger over this lemme first find out. How many of US pay TV licenses? How many have received notifications about renewing the damn licenses? Yeah my point exactly...
We still forced to watch spam TV while the talk of Digital Migration seems to still be decided by politicians who have Digital Satelite Television installed in their homes with the tax payers money. Why the hell has HD not been introduced in this country not even on Radio yet? Countries are in years of HD television now. Now back to the money business, people a Billion rands its a lot of money. How many movies could have been bought with that kind of money? How much of local content could have been produced with that money? In the meantime we forced to watch SOCCER... I am a soccer fanatic too but I find broadcasting of the AFCON matches LIVE unnecessary. You welcome to voice you opinion though...
