Well, to many, independence is about money, houses, cars, etc....
to me independence is more like FREEDOM,
FREEDOM from imitation,
FREEDOM from expectation
FREEDOM from disappointment
FREEDOM from humiliation
FREEDOM from Intimidation
the ability to live on your own,
make your own decisions, that are purely yours, and are not
unconsciously/consciously motivated by others
being able to fight your own battles, and able to accept whatever outcome...
Independence is being able to stand on your own,
Even when you break a leg, you hop around to get to where you want to be,
You don't see a challenge as an obstacle, but a lesson
You take disappointments and move on, you know that there are better things out there,
Failure only means you have to try again, a different approach... maybe...???
Being able to learn from your mistakes, take responsibility for you actions.
You could have nothing in your fridge, but still manage to smile
You loose your one true love, and still smile
You loose friends and family, you still smile
You are single, broke, old, you still smile
You know who you are, and that separates you from the rest of the crowd,
You are not defined by statistics, stereotypes, culture, religion....
Being independent, is not depending on anyone to make you happy,
Being independent, is not relying on anyone to pay your bills, but they can, if they insist...lol
Being independent, is living according to your means, and what you can afford,
Not expecting someone to buy/do something for you that you cant do yourself,
Being independent, is being unique, in the way you do things
Yes being able to pay your own way, and live an extravagant life is a bonus,
But does not make you independent, if you still depend on other people to make smile,
Give you a zest for life, make you complete....Someone must find you complete...
Let someone just bring in a different flavor in your life, a different excitement, concept,
but still stay true to yourself...
Its like when a squab is set free by the mother, to fly on its own, be able to withstand the wind,
or anything that may come its way, find its own worms, or whatever they do to survive...
Independence is not being arrogant or rich... its a lifestyle and survival...
