Bribery is the offer of money, goods, services, information or anything else of value, which is presented with the intent of influencing the actions, opinions, or decisions of the taker.

According to the ISS 2003 National Victims of Crime survey, petty corruption like bribery was the second most prevalent crime in the country after housebreaking. The most commonly paid bribe was for traffic fines, with an astounding 100% of respondents indicating that they had indeed paid the bribe!

Examples of Illegal Bribes/Kickbacks
• Bribing a driving examiner!
• Bribing to get a contract with a certain company!
• Bribing when you are caught speeding on the road!

Have you ever bribed or being bribed in your life blogger and why do you do it or why would you do it!

Child being Bribed

Have you ever done something like this to a child? What do you call it?

Please note that I don't work for the SAPS, CIA or the Scorpions. Anything you say on this article will not be used as evidence against you in the court of law!

Go Posy  lol

im not sure how you'd call this ...dont know if it is bribery or whatever.

When im on the road and im stoppd by the traffic police for speeding,

If i can see the name tag and i know the clan of that surname, i just praise the person with their clan, nothing beats that, you'd be forgiven even before you ask and they'll tell you not to do it again, no wonder i know so many clans.

or

i look if he is too serious or he is laughing, well if he is laughing, i apologie with a very valnerable look, play with emtions and alles, it has always worked.

If he is serious, i just break dow and cry in a way that im not even able to talk properly maybe for a minute,  they'll be aking me if there is anything wrong? am i rushing home, all sort of questions,  and i just node my head and they'll tell me to go but dont speed.

im that good in crying, i can cry anytime i want to or see the need to...LOL

it works for me in the road and hence i havent been giving a ticket by the traffic police, the only tickets i have are those of the cameras

i have bribed a traffic officer once,, my 1st day of driving(just a month ago), i made an illegal u-turn, when I got to the other side of the road, BAM!! the TO was writing me a R300 fine, gave him a puppy face, tried to cry, but niks, dude wasnt buying it, he mentioned cold-drink, then i gave him R50.00..since then i have been very carefull on the roads, no more bribing for me.

as for my child, i dont know if its bribing, if I tell him to finish his food, so that I can buy him play station or something like dat.

and with the driving examiner, ur actually forced to bribe them, no matter how good u r @ driving, u just have to give them a lil something something or they will deliberately fail you...when was getting tested, i did everything by the book both inside and outside the yard, but the stupid woman kept on shouting @ me, telling me i was making mistakes, just trying to make me feel like I MUST pay her, which i did BTW or else i wud have still been trying to get my licence.

lol @ your nephew BA, he's already bully @ 4.

Bully No, he is a survivor, his mother passed on when he just turned  3, while her mother was going in and out of hospital, he has to learn to survive on his own because his peers(lol) had their mother to stand up for them and yena he didnt, that's when he learnt to be manipulative/whatever you call it, that's the same reason we took him home....

Doesn it really work BA?? i mean the crying.

I bribe traffic cops too-for speed usually-I don't cry-just stare at them until they ask for something.

I only cry when I'm drunk and driving...come now I cannot spend a night in the cell. My car has KZN reg numbers-so I just cry when I'm approaching them give them my story

"Please show me the N3-I came to visit my boyfriend, and his other girlfriend pitched and he showed me the door" Now I'm getting lost, where's the N3? I just wanna go home."

It works everytime LOL

Like he would know what a valid reason is.......................

LOL @ BA's nephew

I bribe my child with anything and everything to get them ears working. But luckily he is a good eater so everytime he finishes his food everyone in the house has to clap for him and tell him what a BIG BOY he is.

I once bribed a traffic officer by giving him my numbers, because I was driving without  a licence and he was threatening to take me to jail. The tears just came streaming down my face and after that I made sure that I get my licence. When the guy called I was so cruel and he never called again.............. LOL

I was caught driving without a drivers license in 2006 June 16 wearing school uniform. when the TO approached and asked for license I told him how cute he is like I always do and get away with. But this one was different he called his colleagues (woman) to come and hear what this girl is saying. they were so furious that they told me to sit on the passenger's sit a TO drove my car to the Police Station.

They couldn't listen to anything anyone said they just wanted me behind bars imagine on june 16. I called my friends and family everybody was the about 15people babuza lama TO ukuthi bafuna malini ukuthi bangiyeke I'm telling you those guys were very difficult. the police officer took the statement and the finger prints then he told me to wait for the investigating officer. You know the TOs wanted me to wait in the cell. Fortunately the PO was very understanding immediately the left he said I can sit at the charge office.

the Investigating Officer only arrived around 7h00 and guys that time ziyawa ekasi and mina ngifahlakile(arrested) since ngabo2pm. The IO just asked for cold drink I gave him R100 then he took me home and the case was dismessed the next day at the magistrate court uIO usakhala namanje ukuthi mina ngiyancintshana ngekxkx lami because he thought that sizojola. sorry guys for the long story.

Oh God knows how much I hate to admit this but I had to bribe for my licence, it was the second time that I was going for it and I did everything by the book. But the driving school instructor told me that even though I am a good driver, I will NEVER get my licence in Alberton unless I pay a bribe! It was the first and last time I did something like that. I dont even know how he got the money but I gave it to the instructor and he had to pass it on, and even though I did not give the instructor the money personally it still felt wrong.

I have not been on the wrong side of the law so I have not had to cry for speeding like BA, but I think I will use the TL's story about the boyfriend. It will earn me some sympathy............but how would you handle women TO people, I can imagine that they cant be easy as men in terms of sympathy
