Did anybody watch RELATE yesterday on SABC1? I have been never been so glued to my television screen only to be disappointed. Okay for those who didn’t watch this is what happened.
Mahadi is a mother of a 17 year old Palesa. Palesa is apparently sleeping with her uncle Josias (29)! And now Palesa is six months pregnant with Josias child. The mother has been fighting this battle from the time she found out about the relationship. I call it a relationship because Palesa claims at the end that she’s was in love with him.
This is how it all began:
When Josias was younger he was a sick boy and Mahadi decided to bring him to Soweto to take care of him. They moved to their mother’s home in Orlando where Mahadi was staying. Then later Mahadi heard that her daughter was being abused at her former in-laws, so she moved her to Orlando to stay with her granny, Josias and her little brother in a four roomed house.
According to Palesa the relationship started when her uncle bought alcohol and then offered it to her and that’s how she ended up sleeping with him! From then on they lived like a couple because the girl cooks, cleans and washes for him! They didn’t just make a mistake they decided to have a relationship! According to Mahadi, in an affidavit report, the two were trying to spite her and nobody knows why!
So during the whole episode Palesa convinced everybody that she’s willing to either give up the baby or abort (which is too late because she’s six months preggie), and move in with her mother. So after they were given three tasks which the first one was to see a counselor, etc, Palesa backed down and said that “the man who gave her the baby will take care of her”. Josias is not even working for goodness sake! She refused to go back home with her mother as promised earlier! I was so angry with this girl; I couldn’t believe what she was doing! I was angry because she didn’t care!!!
How do you fall in love with your own uncle??? Someone please explain to me!!
And like the mother asked “what is the child going to call her (i.e. the mom or even the uncle)”????
How do you explain this???
