Mandela says Mbeki should campaign

Former presidents Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki will be required, as "disciplined cadres of the ANC", to "lobby people quietly" ahead of general elections next year, ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe said on monday.
"There is no expectation [from] the ANC that they will play a prominent role as they did when they were presidents. But we are expecting them to talk to whoever they come across, lobby people quietly."

Mantashe’s statements came as Mandela’s office made it clear that he had retired from politics and would not campaign actively for the African National Congress ahead of elections next year.

Meanwhile, Mbeki loyalists are expected to form their own political party, but it is not known if Mbeki supports their movement.

Mr Gwede Mantashe thinks he can order people around, nhe. When ex president Mbeki was ANC president he and his then NEC didn't make any campaigning demands on Madiba or anyone else for that matter.
But SAFM reported this morning that Mr Mbeki wrote a letter to Mr Zuma distancing himself from the "Lekota splinter group"

Great move T'Boz...what Lekota is doing is a sign of a power hungry person who would do just about anything to stay on top...including ditching his own brothers. I don't like the way the new leadres are handling things though....this firing of people because they like Thabo is really SICK!!!!

it does not matter as long as we have another party that will make the ANC not to have a 2/3 majority, that is not healthy people.
