Groomer Has It
Premiere date: Friday, 17 October 2008 at 14h15
Repeats later at 21h00
Duration: 1 hour

Groomer Has It sniffs out America's most devout dog groomers to compete against each other in a test of creativity and affinity for animals. 12 hopefuls shave, shear and shampoo their way through a series of challenges that eventually crowns the Groomer of the Year.

These self-proclaimed best groomers live together in a Los Angeles loft the Dog House. They work elbow-to-elbow in one salon and face grooming challenges that range from styling pups for their catwalk debut, grooming some of the most exotic dog breeds and making adoptable pups look their most fetching for new homes.

Premiere date: Sunday, 19 October 2008 at 14h15
Repeats later at 21h00
Duration: 1 hour

Planet Earth combines rare action, scale and intimate moments with our planet's best-loved, wildest and most elusive creatures.

The show uses HD photography and specially developed filming techniques.

Wildlife SOS 8
Premiere date: Monday, 20 October 2008 at 06h00
Two-half episodes back to back
Repeats in the evening at 20h00

Wildlife SOS returns for a new season to continue tracking the work of the staff and volunteers at the charity Wildlife Aid in Leatherhead, Surrey.

Every day, the centre receives hundreds of calls for help from members of the public, vets and other animal professionals who have come across sick, injured or orphaned British wildlife.

The season focuses on the effect the seasons have on British wildlife and the dangers it faces. Narrated by Simon Cowell, founder of Wildlife Aid, the programme follows some of the calls received by the 140 volunteers, from the time the animals are rescued to their treatment in hospital.

Groomer Has It looks hysterical - even more so that it's on a Friday night DStv reality night too.

Friday night's looking like it's starting to get back to a full evening of new reality viewing - there's Moment of Truth coming up on Series on Friday at 21h00, TAR on SET at 20h00, Groomer Has It at 21h00  - all in all things are looking up channel-hopping-wise.

Haven't been into the Friday night reality on Series in a while - since Project Runway ended. Missed Top Design and then fell too far behind and haven't been into anything else since.

I've heard that you can get no finer doccie show than Planet Earth.  I've seen snippets of it and it's minblowing.  The camera work is astonishing.
