The
High School Musical SA auditions started in PE on 6 June and hit Cape Town last week and last weekend.
The show spent the Monday to Thursday travelling round schools doing auditions and on Friday the open auditions happened at The River Club.
The day involved sifting through hopefuls - those who were given the okay went on to do performance workshops and other such things on Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday a final selection was made for the Top 40 and seven were chosen - five were chosen in PE.
I hotfooted through to the River Club to see what was going on for us - with reservations natch. With Idols we only had the torture of singing whereas now we've also got to live through acting and dancing. Seeings as we've seen so much singing over time I thought it would be an idea to grab some acting instead.
I asked auditionees to act out scenes based on the scenario: you've just seen your BFF - *Best Friend Forever* - flirting with your boyfriend.
As you'll see from the results, instead of High School Musical things turned into Scream!
