Hi everyone! For this story to be complete please check out this Vlog. All is explained in it:
The hotel - I forget to tell you the official name - it's called First World Hotel,

All the outside rides and main hotels are centred around this lake where you just sort of paddle around.

This is a cart that gives you a tour of the whole outside of the park that goes at about 1 km/hour.

It took twenty minutes to start going - which happened after a guy came onto the tracks and tweaked a button from in our cart.

In the pic with me are Randall (you know who), Susan Combrie (a freelance writer who covers TV for The Voice) and Bienne Huisman (an entertainment writer for the Sunday Times).

The excellent flying roller coaster.  Basically the way it works is - you get in and stand up, then it tips forwards so you're facing the ground and then it takes off so the feeling you have through it all is that you're flying like wild things.

Unfortunately it was very difficult to get the best pics to show you how it works properly. I did get a groovy official pic from the rollercam though - like the ones they take at Ratanga - but I can't scan it in unfortunately. It was very reasonably priced in comparision with Ratanga's high prices - it cost R17 and came in a special momento envelope.

Set design scenery that you pass in the cart.

The other ride we were keen on doing. It works like a lift so it jumps up and down - we didn't get time to do it before lunch though and didn't think it was a wise idea to do it afterwards.

The restuarant.

The view from the restaurant. It looks like it's in the clouds but it's just a really high mountain.

The awesome cable car ride which is a feat of wowser engineering. It travels above the natural Malaysian jungles that surround the mountain.

The view from the car when you look back from where you leave from.

The first view forward going into the mist.

PS: I just realised that in the vid I wildly call it Ginseng Highlands but it's actually Gentung Highlands - pronounced Guntung.

The MOST CLASSIC sales pitch of all time:
"It's a genuine copy!"

buyingheores

One of my all-time fave things about Malaysia is the fact every market you go to you get the sales line: "It's a genuine copy!" when you just happen to look at something.

What it means is that everything on the market's fake but the item you're looking at specifically is based exactly on the original - which isn't ever true 'cos the logo's (espesh on sunglasses) are all wrong!
