"With this ring, I thee wed"
Yay! It has finally happened, Neville and Charmaine got married on 9th May just like they said they would, no Daleen, no children and no other obstacles stood in their way.
Yes things are’nt exactly moonshine and roses with Charmaine and Vanessa after Van told her mother that she and Xander got married at the magistrates’ office. Things got out of control and when Vanessa moved out and into her flat with Xander, she and her mom were not on speaking terms. No we are not going to spoil the happy day talking about that spoilt brat of a daughter, we are going to celebrate this joyous occasion.
Charmaine woke up to a wonderful breakfast prepared specially for her by Marko and Diederik and they provided flowers as well. Marko broke the happy news that he was offered a permanent job at Bruynwaves and they celebrated, clinking their juice filled glasses.
"Cheers!"
Then Nellie called and told his bride he could’nt wait to see her and that it was the happiest day of his life. He also informed her that he received his itinerary and they will be spending their honeymoon in New York, New York, start spreading the news…..
There is chaos at the Terreblanche house when Felicity comes downstairs in a panic, the wedding dress is not finished and there’s so much beading still to do. JH suggest they make use of Rosie and some other girl at the factory and Dezi agrees, telling her not to panic.
"Yeah, I know I need a comb"
Meanwhile over at the Van Zyl apartment, Oubaas, Maria and Hilda are busy with the wedding cake, it looked like a complete disaster to me but we’ll give Hilda the benefit of the doubt.
"Eish, Oubaas die koek is lekker"
Finally its time for the ceremony and everybody is dressed to the nines as they always are in Hillside whenever there’s a function.
Alyce and Karien are panicking about the wedding dress not arriving yet and finally Felicity, Dezi and JH arrive with Charmaine’s dress.
"Sjoe, die rok is swaar"
At the church, Nellie looking very dashing in his suit is patiently waiting for his bride to arrive. Finally the organ strikes up and Here Comes The Bride is played.
"Yay, I'm not being stood up"
How beautiful Charmaine looks, like a true blushing bride, she walks down the aisle to her husband to be.
"Aai Neville, how handsome you look"
Xander and Vanessa quietly slip into the back pew.
"How can she shut me out just because I'm wearing a wig"
After the Dominee, the one who does all the ceremonies in the Laan, announces them man and wife, the two kiss very sweetly as everyone nods in approval.
"Mmm if the kiss is anything to go by, I can't wait for the honeymoon"
Everything looks beautiful at the reception as everyone arrives, gift in hand. The scene looked kinda similar to Emma and Ryno’s wedding reception.
Hilda and Oubaas came in with a three tiered cake looking ever so wobbly and skew but Hilda seemed very chuffed with her efforts.
Kabelo: "I wonder what lethal combinations she put in there, I'm not touching it"
Matrone looked at the cake in disgust.
"I should've known that spidery woman would create such a monstrosity"
As everyone makes their way to the seats, Xander and Vanessa sit at the back feeling like outcasts at their own parent’s wedding while Vince and Felicity are playing their parts to the tee.
"Congrats, Mum and Dad"
Naturally Oom Oubaas who is the self appointed MC at all the functions in the Laan got up and said his winged words. Halfway through his speech, Xander and Vanessa left, unable to handle being left out of the proceedings.
"I can't believe she chose Felicity's mop over mine"
A sad Charmaine and Neville looked on as their kids disappeared out the door. How heartbreaking it must’ve been for Charmaine to celebrate the happiest day of her life unable to share it with her only daughter.
"She may be Mrs Meintjies before me but I'm still the senior"
Its time to cut the cake and it took quite a few tries as the cake threatened to topple over. Finally it was time for the bride and groom to dance their first dance as the music played and Charville took to the floor followed by Oubaas and Hilda, Dezi and JH, Mandla and Paula, Alyce and Themba and finally Marko and San Mari.
"This cake is as fragile as Hilda"
"Shall we dance, Mrs Meintjies?"
Poor Aggie had to comfort herself eating cake as she watched Themba and Alyce dancing. To bring you up to speed, when Themba confronted Aggie about her real identity, he did’nt really give her a chance to explain herself, telling her she was playing games with him all the time. Now he has knocked on Alyce’s door again and she was only too willing to open.
"Aikona Themba, how can you do this to me?"
Coming back to Charville, they’re on the dance floor and everyone surrounds them, cheering them on as the credits roll.
"For they are jolly good fellows"
Aaaah aint life schweet!
Now I’m just hoping Vanessa can settle things with her mom before she goes overseas, it is afterall the right thing to do.
