The Amazing Race 9 Dumped For The Cricket World Cup

TAR_150x215I don't know how to soften the blow telling you this so the only way to do it is come right out and stab with you it as quickly as possible to get it over with.

When Survivor Exile Island finishes on 6 February, instead of the traditional change over to the next season of The Amazing Race that always thrills us, Survivor's gonna be replaced with some crap 6-episode show that compares people's athleticism to animals.

The reason for this is that SABC3's schedules's are gonna be such a mess for the next four months because of them broadcasting the Cricket Tests as well as the Cricket World Cup, they're not starting The Amazing Race 9 until 8 May.

I honestly don't care what the reason is nor how important the World Cup is - it's the biggest load of rubbish I've ever heard. What type of channel are they exactly and why do we have to suffer because they can't decide??

They're supposed to be an entertainment channel but now they're just suddenly deciding that for four months of the year they're turning into SuperSport.

The four months they're taking for sport essentially puts programmes behind by half a year in total because of new seasons of shows being held back like this. As you may or may not know, it's the same situation with the latest season of Oprah.

Without a doubt all this will have a big impact on other fave loyally watched shows like Isidingo and 3Talk, as well as numerous other series that just happen to be "in the way." Ultimately what the channel's giving us this year is half a year of sport and half a year of shows.

It's completely unacceptable that they didn't organise for that ridiculous midnight SABC Sport to be a separate channel during this time when they knew such huge conflicts were inevitable.

The way things currently are they're really stuffing us around - as if we're so expendable and desperate we'll just hang around waiting until they're in the mood to give us our shows back. The trouble is we will 'cos we have no choice, which is the ultimate suck-fest of it.

Of course it's no surprise that they don't know whether they're a sport or entertainment channel.  The last time they were asked to describe themselves on an episode of 3Talk they said they're an "LSM 7 - 10 channel". What the stuff does that mean? I don't for a moment believe that they know.

One thing's for certain, it doesn't mean that they're fully on our side, respect our loyalty and aim to give all of us a rip roaringly entertaining time.

Grr, I'm so irritated I could throttle them! - I trust you feel the same.
