Dummy's Guide: Understanding US Ratings
Know the numbers, where's it from and what it means. Not sure how it works. Read this Dummy Guide...

Tuesdays – Friday's Biggest Winners & Losers:

Tuesday Biggest Winner:
House (FOX)

”House” managed to grow from the disappointing ratings provided by “Standoff” to phenomenal numbers! Expect this show to be a mega hit in January once it’s paired with “American Idol” again and it reaches “Grey’s Anatomy” numbers!

Tuesday Biggest Loser:
Tony Bennett: An American Classic (NBC)
Although the special broadcast had solid viewers, the special flunked in the demographics and came out last. Ouch!

------------------

Wednesday Biggest Winners:
Criminal Minds (CBS) & Medium (NBC)
Kudo’s to both shows holding the fort well on each respective network with strong numbers. “Medium” managed to hold on to solid numbers despite its almost six month absence and new night.

Wednesday Biggest Losers:
Day Break (ABC) & The Nine (ABC)
ABC without “Lost” is lost. The Nine fell to a dismal disappointing 4 Million Viewers from its weak lead-in “Day Break” which fell further this week to 5 Million Viewers. Expect the axe to swing past ABC soon!

------------------

Thursday Biggest Winners:
Grey’s Anatomy (CBS) & Spider Man 2 (FOX)
Grey’s won in audience ratings and demos against CSI and still, despite it being Thanksgiving manage to keep strong number with it’s extended episode.
FOX by airing the theatrical, Spider Man 2 managed to double its Thursday ratings. The only network to increase in ratings despite it being Thanksgiving and a small viewing audience.

Thursday Biggest Loser:
Ugly Betty (ABC)

Even though it was Thanksgiving an all shows across all networks were down, Ugly Betty lost the most amount of viewers despite an all new episode being broadcast.

------------------

Friday Biggest Winner:
Ghost Whisperer (CBS)

With it's big ratings, Ghost Whisperer took the title of the biggest demo for the night! Not bad for CBS considering its a younger-aduience viewing show!

Friday Biggest Loser:
None.
