Season 5
Season 5 features a brand new format and a complete change to the structure of the show.
This season, 15 contestants battle it out throughout the season by placing bets on whether or not they will know the answers to musical questions.
There is a kitty of R10,000 per episode that all 15 contestants play with. The two contestants that make the least amount of money or have lost the most amount of money for the episode battle it out in the elimination round and every week one contestant goes home until only one remains.
The team kitty builds every week and the final winner stands a chance to win a jackpot of over R200,000.
This game show / reality hybrid also features three musical guest artists every week.
Musiek Roulette is based on an original concept by Johan Stemmet and is produced by Mellow Yellow Entertainment.
Broadcast Notes
There are 26 episodes in Season 5. The first 13 episodes aired on SABC2 from 31 January to 2 May, 2019, on Thursdays at 19h00. However, the mid-season finale aired with technical errors and had to be rebroadcast on 19 May.
Season 5 returned with Episode 14 on Thursday 21 November, 2019, at 19h00.
