Rock Solid is an American reality television series in which cousins Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns which shows viewers how to build sturdy stone top tables, outdoor showers, fire pits and rare rock gardens, amongst other masonry projects.
The series originally premiered in the USA on the DIY Network in 2004. There are 52 half-hour episodes in four seasons to date.
Rock Solid airs in South Africa on DStv's The Home Channel.
Synopsis

Homeowner, Frank Marinelli, made a common mistake when building his Newport, Rhode Island home 20 years ago. He saved money and creative energy by covering the fireplace surrounds in his living and dining room with brick and inexpensive tile.
That brick is now painted white and fading, the tile is chipped, and the fireplaces are more than ready for a facelift.
Frank calls on his old buddies, masons Dean and Derek, to revamp not one but two fireplace surrounds using polished granite and boulder veneer.
Dean and Derek take us inside the stone fabricator's shop, discuss what to look for in a good manufacturer, how to choose stone, and then demonstrate how to revamp a fireplace surround.
From the demo to the application and all the steps in between, Dean and Derek show us why working with this type of stone requires nerves of steel as well as a steady hand.
