Rude Awakening is an American television comedy series created by Claudia Lonow and produced by Mandalay Television
and Columbia TriStar Television which follows Billie Frank, an alcoholic has-been ex-soap actress who struggles with her self-destructive habits.
She's rude. She's promiscuous. She's shameless. And those are her good qualities.
Billie meets Dave, a guy who lives in her apartment building, and is also an alcoholic. The show is based upon their relationship, along with all the others in Alcoholics Anonymous with them.
With the help of her friends and the support of AA, she tries to manage her temper, her addictions and dealing with her sarcastic mother.
