Forensic Investigators is an Australian crime documentary series created by Fiona Baker which takes viewers inside the scenes of infamous and bizarre Australian murders and the enthralling investigations that follow.
The series premiered in Australia on the Seven Network in September 2004. It airs in South Africa on DStv's Zone Reality channel.
Season 3 premieres on Wednesday 23 January 2008, at 21h00.
Episodes are aired from Mondays to Fridays at 21h00. There are 12 episodes in Season 3.
Synopsis
The series concentrates on the tireless work of the detectives and the scientific procedures used to help crack the case.
Hosted by Lisa McLune, Forensic Investigators has rare access to police videos, crime scene stills, and other forensic evidence. Footage that has never been seen outside of the courtroom gives viewers unique and first hand knowledge of the case.
Witnesses, detectives and crime scene investigators plus family and friends of the deceased, all give their version of events leading up to the crime and the investigation that ensued.
Through their accounts, viewers are taken on a journey where pieces of evidence are found and slotted into a puzzle that reveals the identity of the murderer.
