Season 2
Chef Chris Smith is back with a new season of Geure uit die Vallei. The previous season ended with the rural chef and his faithful four-legged companion, Sophia, nestled in their cozy home among the vineyards and majestic mountains of the Franschhoek Valley, in the Cape winter.
Chris immersed himself in the warm comfort food and soul dishes, inspired by the cold weather. He took us on a culinary journey, recreating the old times and discovering new ones. Classic favourites were plentiful while the mystery surrounding the art of baking was unveiled.
Now, with Franschhoek basking in the golden glow of summer, Chris plans to make the most of the abundance of fresh produce that comes with the season. Lighter, healthier meals, hassle-free pastries and breads bursting with the freshness of summer.
Chris also explores more of Franschhoek and its rich environment to take even more inspiration for his unique dishes, ingredients and ideas.

Broadcast Notes
The series originally aired on kykNET, as two seasons of 13 episodes each. It later repeated on SABC2, and became exclusive to the channel after the first half of Season 2.
The first set of 13 episodes in Season 2 aired erratically on SABC2 from 10 May, 2017. The second half of the season, beginning with Season 2, Episode 14, premiered on SABC2 on Wednesday 25 July, 2018.
