Season 2

In Season 2, XIII (Stuart Townsend) is betrayed by the only person he ever trusted and finds solace living off the grid.

Back in the USA after travelling the world, he stumbles upon the activist group The Veil and is seduced both by their environmental/anti-corporate/anti-globalization message and the beautiful activist Betty Barnowsky (Roxane Mesquida).

When XIII is framed for bombing global conglomerate Synequanon's headquarters, he understands that he is being manipulated - he just isn't sure why or by whom.

Now he's back on the radar and certain people are after him: President Carrington (Stephen McHattie) who clings to power at any cost, former National Security Adviser and now CEO of Synequanon, Colonel Samuel Amos (Greg Bryk), and a mysterious figure, who seems to have a lot (too much, in fact) in common with XIII.

XIII is pulled into an international conspiracy that threatens to unleash a new weapon to rival the atomic bomb. While unraveling this global plot, he must also confront the truth about his identity and a past he can neither remember nor escape.

Season 2 also stars Aisha Tyler and is produced by Prodigy Pictures and EuropaCorp Television.

XIII was developed and produced by Prodigy Pictures and French production company, Euopacorp Television, the television division of Luc Besson's Europacorp (La Femme Nikita). In addition to airing in Canada on Showcase, the series will air on Canal Plus in France.

The creative forces behind XIII include Prodigy Pictures' Jay Firestone, Executive Producer, along with Cipango's Edouard De Vésinne and Thomas Anargyros. Frederic Bruneel co-produced the series.

Gil Grant (NCIS: Los Angeles, 24) wrote the pilot and is the series' Showrunner and Executive Producer. Peter Mohan (Lost Girl, The Bridge) is the Co-Executive Producer for the series along with Damien Couvreur. The series is produced by Wanda Chaffey.

XIII is based on Jean Van Hamme's popular graphic novel of the same name, which has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide since the first volume was published in 1984. The series was filmed in Toronto.
