Season 1
Soft Life is a South African television drama series which follows Owami, a woman who enters into the secretive world of high-society companionship in order to pay her mother's rising medical bills.
Owami hides her new profession from her family, leading a dual life as she navigates the sometimes-dangerous, high-society escort industry.
Fearful that her new profession could shatter everything she holds dear, Owami must keep her dual life hidden.
Zizipho Buti stars as Owami alongside Mampho Brescia as Zam, the owner of a business called NubiaBlaq, which is a cover for her escort agency, The Girlfriend Experience (GFE).
Zam is sophisticated yet strict, ruling her establishment with an iron fist.
Katlego Lebogang plays Zinhle, the Queen Bee at GFE, who becomes a mentor to Owami.
Nambitha Mpumlwana plays Judge Iris Makhaza, the overprotective mom of Owami's boyfriend.
In the series premiere, "When it Rains": Owami celebrates her 23rd birthday as her mom reminds her she's a true reincarnation of her grandmother.
Later on, MaGqoji goes to work and collapses.
Created by Vusi Zion for Afriprime, the 13-episode drama is a Showmax Original produced by Urban Brew Studios by executive producers Vusi Zion and Adelaide Joshua-Hill, with series producer Janine Kuhn.
Nozipho Nkelemba and Nthabiseng Mokoena are the directors.
