Season 1

In the Dock is a South African drama series which revolves around the trial of a politician accused of murdering his wife.

Loyiso Oliphant (Dumisani Mbebe), a South African politician, is woken up to the news that his wife Lungi (Angela Sithole) died in a car accident.

But deeper investigations show he may have staged the accident to cover up how he killed her.

As he faces his trial, details of their unhappy marriage and a double life come to light, and the true reason why Lungi faked her death, and framed him for her murder.

Set primarily within the tense confines of a courtroom, In the Dock finds Loyiso under the sharp scrutiny of justice.

As the story unfolds, Loyiso, with his back against the wall, has to fight to prove his innocence amidst mounting evidence and public speculation.

The series delves into the world of Loyiso as he faces accusations, court confrontations, revealing flashbacks and the shadow of a mystery witness.

With each episode, the court becomes both a stage of confrontation and a place of revelation, with one question at the heart of it: did he or didn't he do it?

Jerry Mofokeng also stars as Khulile Motaung, along with performances by Katlego Danke, Ayakha Ntunja, Toka Mtabane, Felicia Mahambehlala, Lorraine Moropa, Tshepo Maseko, Kwanele Mthethwa, Bongani Ndyalvane and Yvonne Chaka Chaka as the presiding judge.

In the Dock was created by Siphosethu Tshapu and is produced by The Milton Empire, with executive producer Tshapu and series producer Yolanda Ndhlovu.

Siphosethu Tshapu is the head writer, with a writing team including Kirsten Adams, Khanyisa Jali-Omeiza, Julian Koboekae, Ntando Mhlongo, Donald Ndlovu and Nombulelo Mcwerah.

The directors are Zolani Phakade and Nthabi Tau.
