The desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune, is the only planet where the spice melange, crucial for interstellar travel, can be found. In a political move, the House of Artreides is assigned to rule over the planet.
Paul Atreides, heir to House Atreides, soon finds that Arrakis can be a deadly place. Not just because of its climate and the mysterious sandworms that live there, but also so a result of the plans of House Harkonnen, the previous rules of Arrakis, and sworn enemies of House Atreides.
Dune is a mini-series based on the novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, which is regarded as one of the best science fiction novels ever written.
