Synopsis
The British public is finally becoming more aware of the creatures that also call Britain their home.
Britain's Wildest Places aims to raise awareness and inspire, as Animal Planet tells of species on the brink, but also the stories of how they are fighting back.
It also shows how, when Britons put their minds to it, they can make a difference and prevent the continuing destruction.
It also reveals some of Britain's most beautiful natural habitats, from the rugged coastline to the tranquil rivers, the cragged mountaintops to the gentle pastures, the leafy woodlands to exposed marshlands.
And of course, protecting these habitats are part of the story – as woodland areas increase, more land is protected, the loss of hedgerows is halted and agriculture and industry become more sympathetic to conservation.
