Brilliant Beasts is a three-part documentary television series which looks at three species of animal that have evolved into some of the world’s smartest animals: the pig, the dog and the pigeon.
The series premiered in South Africa on DStv's Nat Geo Wild channel on Tuesday 6 May 2008, at 21h00. There are three hour-long episodes in the series.

Synopsis

Hog Genius explores the speed at which pigs can learn and the contribution they make to medical research due to their resemblance to humans.
Pigeon Genius explores how pigeons navigate their way home, flying hundreds of miles through unfamiliar territory and Dog Genius considers the many facets of dog intelligence.
