Press Release

Rhythm City actors headline at Soweto Fashion Week
27 - 29 November

Rhythm City and e.tv pride themselves for having a cast that is young, funky, multi-talented and much sought-after. We are proud to announce that some of the soapie’s main cast will feature in this year’s Soweto Fashion Week from Wednesday, 26 November until Saturday, 29 November 2014 in Soweto - as models, perfoming artists and host.

The actors who will be strutting their stuff on the catwalk on Thursday, 27 November include Simpiwe Mtshali (Bash), Nolo Phiri (Nikki), Pamela Andrews (Gail). Mduduzi Mabaso (Suffo) Samukelo Ndlovu (Lerato), and KB Motsilanyane (Lucilla) get their turn on Friday, 28 November and Melusi Mbele (Zolani), Amo Chidi (Reneilwe) and Dumi Masilela (Sifiso) feature on the Saturday, 29 November show.

The Soweto Fashion Week, established in 2011, is a platform established for both up-and-coming as well as  established designers in South Africa but is not narrow in its perspective. Encompassing two seasons’ autumn and summer collections. The aim is to introduce a change in the face of modelling and fashion week runways and to grow the South African fashion industry. This year the show will feature only 12 carefully selected designers throughout the three days at the Soweto Theatre.

As an added bonus, Rhythm City’s Fats will host the launch party on Wednesday, 26 November. The sultry Samukelo Ndlovu will also be showing off her musical talent with a special music performance alongside Brian ‘Bruno’ Majola on the opening night. Fans can also look out for a special appearance by award winning actor Jamie Bartlett who plays David Genaro in the soapie.
