TVSA was exclusively invited to the Big Brother Stargame press conference with J.Cole, I took it further and called it "Breakfast With J.Cole." You should have seen the immediate reaction from the ladies. Lol
Ok. So J Cole is a mama's boy and kept on referring to mama when asked personal questions, but for the mere fact that he is a darling, he's immediately forgiven. In the Q & A session he mentioned how shocked he was when leaving the airport, to see a black person on the first billboard because in the US black people normally get the 6th billboard. Yep, and here we are singing "New York, where dreams are made." Hehe...
He also spoke about how he's never had it easy and was in fact the first out of his family to graduate from varsity. If he wasn't singing, he joked that he'd be that guy trying over and over to crack it into the NBA and his future plans involve acting. For those of you who still link him to Rihanna, he cleared the rumour and mentioned that it was all a publicity stunt. The good news is that he wants to come back to Mzansi for a couple of days or weeks.
If there was 1 word I could use to describe J Cole, it would be "HUMBLE," another one is "REAL." He was so down to earth and mingled with everyone and allowed himself to be mobbed by the media who were the "professional groupies"
The poor guy wanted to sit down and eat, but no... We wanted to take pics and when he thought he was done, it was TV and radio interviews. After dishing up for himself, as he headed to his table to finally eat, he was mobbed by a group of journos asking for autographs. Tjo, the poor guy ended up leaving. Shame, he tried hard to negotiate with those overly eager "groupies" to wait until he had eaten, because he had just landed and was exhausted, but nooo they insisted getting the autographs immediately. Now, it makes sense why these people have heavy security. Wooo, they'd be buried by the mobs...
I was then introduced to the Channel O VJs from the rest of Africa, who are set to spice up the Channel O content.
Well, here's the person responsible for introducing me to the other VJs, and by the way he is also a Channel O VJ representing Naija. Enough of the work. Could we please take a minute to checkout his outfit. Somizi better watch his back...
Then my focus was grabbed by these "double deck" platform shoes. This BBA season, bizarre shoes seem to be trending.
The same guy volunteered to provide entertainment for us during breaks because the lady dj seemed overwhelmed and shaky half the time.
So, what were your first impressions of the show? Do you approve of the shocking fashion? Did you enjoy JCole's performance?
Look out for Toodecent's article on what went down during the Big Brother StarGame show.
