NEW SHOW on eNews Channel: Against All Odds Premieres on Friday, 13 April at 8:45PM
A new aspirational and inspirational current affairs show premieres on the eNews Channel on Friday 13 April at 8:45PM.
Against All Odds, hosted by Mpho Lakaje is a 15-minute show which profiles ordinary people who rise against devastating odds to achieve extraordinary success. It unearths individuals who challenge conventional thinking to reach what seem like impossible goals. The programme celebrates the South Africa we don’t usually hear about.
Says Mpho: “Whilst doing research and working as a reporter, I came across and met amazing people doing remarkable things for their fellow human beings.
“I always wanted to tell the stories of these unsung heroes, because they do such a magnificent job helping other people in need. In some cases these humanitarians come from the same backgrounds of those they are helping, or have experienced the same adversities. Others challenge conventional thinking to improve themselves and their communities.
“I pitched my idea to the Head of eNews Channel, Patrick Conroy, and after much fortitude, Against All Odds became a reality. I’m excited to tell these stories to the rest of the world.”
Every week, Mpho profiles two people from different walks of life. Interviews are done in the people’s own environment, whether at home or at their places of work.
“Against All Odds is a concept that reflects how I see the world. I want South Africans to see what is good about themselves. Too many times we focus on the negative news, while there are so many good people and great things to talk about in our country.
“The programme is aimed at inspiring the nation and proving that South Africa has much more to offer… beyond crime, unemployment and other social ills,” concludes Mpho.
Against All Odds premiers on eNews Channel on Friday, 13 April at 8:45 PM, with repeats on Saturdays (7:45 AM, 10:45 AM, 7:45 PM), Sundays (08:45 AM, 14:45 AM, 22:45 PM) and Mondays (8:45 AM and, 1:45 PM)
