Season 1 Synopsis

Bounced another cheque? Swimming in a sea of bills? Drowning in credit card debt?

Meet Aurora – she’s 21 and already $80 000 in debt. Can she put the manicures on hold and give herself a fresh financial start?

Kathleen is a single mother, earning $37,000 a year. Can she dig herself out of debt and give her children the security they deserve?

In each episode, money coach Ayse Hogan gets to the root of what is causing each woman’s bad relationship with money.

Observing their behaviour and putting them on a strict budget, Maxed Out helps these financially-stressed women to face their fears, get on top of their finances and turn their lives around.

Season 2- Synopsis

Financially stressed couples, families and singles get tell-it-like-it-is advice from Alison Griffiths, a financial expert.

Alison investigates their lives by their bank and credit card statements, analyzes how, where and what they spend money on and calculates the shocking grand total of their debts.

Alison explains the practical steps they need to take to kick their bad spending habits for good. She then develops plans for the participants to follow so they can pay their debts back faster and work towards a brighter financial future.

Couples are typically middle-class homeowners who are having trouble managing their money. Viewers watch as Allison reviews the couples' budgets, finds the places where they're overspending, and helps them put together a plan to get back on track.

Maxed Out gives ideas to work on your own budget and make a get out of debt plan. Even if your spending and debt are under control, the show can help you make better spending decisions in the future.
