The Carefree Gardener is an American reality garden makeover series produced by JimmyKristie Productions in which host Craig Allison gets families to pitch in and help him give their gardens trendy, charming makeovers.
The series premiered in the USA on KPNX-TV, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona, on 29 September, 2006. It was changed from a one-hour series to a half-hour series for its national distribution that began on 1 May, 2007 on the America One Network.
The Carefree Gardener premiered in South Africa on DStv's The Home Channel on Monday 4 August 2008, at 10h00. For the first season, episodes are an hour in length.
