Homes Under the Hammer is a British reality TV series created by Melanie Eriksen which visits property auctions to share in the tension and adrenalin as presenters Lucy and Martin meet buyers prepared to nod, wink and wave their way to buying a new house.
The series premiered in the UK on BBC One in 2003. It originally aired in South Africa on BBC Prime.

Synopsis
Homes Under the Hammer visits the real-life drama of an auction, where the buyers put their money where their mouth is, and follows the subsequent planning and building works which could transform the property into a dream home or investment.
Featuring real-life purchases made by ordinary people, alongside opinions and commentary by property-developing experts, the show explores the risks, expectations, dreams and realities of buying property in the auction house.
