Mooiweer en Warm is a South African, Afrikaans-language television drama series which revolves around the lives of the weekend hawkers at a small town church.
At a run of the mill church on the Highveld, Pastor Issie is struggling – like many other pastors – to keep her congregation afloat.
It is for this reason that she agrees to sign a contract with Alex Kemp to use the church grounds for a flea market every Saturday.
We follow the lives of the weekend hawkers and get a look at their lives, struggles and joys.
A subplot is that the dam on top of the hill above the small town might burst if heavy rains fall.
But the only people who know about the possible danger are the scientists who are not necessarily known for their people skills...
Cezanne Dippenaar, the geologist from Geo Solutions who is worried about the impending doom, is played by Carla Smith (Tydelik Terminaal).
Cezanne lost her family in an accident and is heir to a fortune that means that she doesn't need to work, but she follows in her father's footsteps and becomes a geologist.
Carlo Daniels (Skemerdans) is Ruben Arendse, an intelligent meteorologist and Cezanne's best friend.
He is happily married to Maddy (Athina Jansen, Suidooster), a physiotherapist who also has a stand at the market where she gives massages.
Geon Nel (Die Boekklub) is Alex Kemp, the organiser of the market.
He is divorced and shares a house with his ex-mother-in-law, Sonica Winters (Brümilda van Rensburg, Lui maar op, Belinda).
Is that enough to keep people gossiping? Of course it is.
Marisa Drummond (Elke Skewe Pot) is Isabella Boshoff, or Dominee Issie as she is known.
She is the first women pastor that the congregation has had, has never been married and the church council are wondering if they made the right decision when they appointed her.
André Samuels (Sara se Geheim) is Bokkie Oktober, the scribe of the congregation who believes everything in life should be built on biblical principals.
Meyer Basson (Beer Adriaanse, Hotel), a young elder in the church, is an avid bird watcher who sells books and sketches at the market.
Is Meyer the knight in shining armour that will save Cezanne from people like Hannah Brand (Susan Danford, Knon Gods), the manager of Geo Solutions who is under political and financial pressure?
Or the sly Dieter (Jacques Theron, Binnelanders), who is afraid that Cezanne is going to sink Geo Solutions?
Other characters include Berta Engelbrecht (Antoinette Kellerman, Song vir Katryn), an old hippy who sells books at the market; and her daughter Aletta (Tinarie van Wyk-Loots, Troukoors) who sells sunglasses; as well as Lood Momberg (Paul du Toit, Binnelanders), a rock singer and tattoo artist who sells more than just T-shirts...
Deon Lotz (Legacy) is Willem Conradie, a bitter man who sells take-aways; and his long-suffering wife Nerine is played by Ira Blanckenberg (Toorbos).
Carmen Booysen (Kim Cloete, Fynskrif), a mother of three who also looks after her blind father, Oom Skip (Royston Stoffels, Arendsvlei) by selling homemade sweets, is Nerine's best friend.
As the series unfolds and we get to know the characters, there is one question that needs to be answered: What will happen if a big storm comes?
Will the dam hold?
