About the Show

Umkhokha is a South African television drama series which revolves around the killing of the leader of a mega-church and the subsequent fight to take over his position.

The series revolves around the biggest church in all of KwaZulu-Natal, called Ithempeli Lenkosi.

Due to the magnitude of the church, many people can't help but view it as a business.

In fact, the series of events at the beginning of the series are set in motion by news of the signing of a new lucrative contract with a beverage company.

The leader of the church prays for the water that everyone in the church drinks, the company bottles it and then sells it at a very decent profit.

Then the church shares in the profits made by the company.

The first scene of the series is the murder of the leader of the church, Kwazi Mthembu - and thus begins the fight for his crown.

The series stars Deli Malinga as MaMzobe, Sthandiwe Kgoroge as MaNzimande, Nay Maps as Siphamandla, Linda Sokhulu as Zodwa, Hope Mbhele as MaBusi, Sibonile Ngubane as Difa and Kwezi Ndlovu as Nobuntu.

Umkhokha is an M-Net Original Production based on an original concept by Mandla KaNozulu and produced by RhythmWorld Productions for Mzansi Magic.

The executive producers are Mandla KaNozulu and Nathi Ngwane, the series producer is Nkonzo Mdluli and the director is Menga Nhlabathi.

The head writer is Chris Q. Radebe with a writing team including Sasa Nqabeni, Sayitsheni Mdakhi, Zoleka Monare and Awelani Makhuvha.

The title track was composed by Zithulele Kwela for RhythmWorld Music, who also provide the library music.
